About us

The Puducherry Believers Church, founded by Rev. C. Stephen, began its journey with a simple Tuesday fasting prayer held at Bro. Victor Dhanraj's house in Rajaji Nagar, Lawspet, Puducherry, India. Initially consisting of just six members, the congregation quickly grew, gathering every Sunday. Within a year, the fellowship expanded to 35 members.
On March 13, 1998, a small thatched shed was constructed on rented land in St. Paul Pet, marking a significant milestone for the church. Through the grace of God, the church has remained steadfast in preaching the Word and offering prayers for broken-hearted souls, creating a supportive community and a beacon of hope in the region.
In 2002, the church took a significant step by purchasing its own land, reflecting a vision for growth and community. By 2004, the construction of a small shed marked the beginning of its physical presence.
As the congregation flourished, construction on a larger church building commenced in 2008, reaching completion in the first phase by 2012.
In 2013, Rev. S. Hudson James became the lead pastor of the congregation, bringing new vision and energy that catalysed a remarkable increase in the number of believers. This surge in faith and support within the community laid the groundwork for a significant second phase of expansion, initiated in 2016. The collective commitment and enthusiasm of the congregation during this time were pivotal, allowing for the successful completion of the expansion project in 2017
The blessings continued, and by 2021, a third phase of extension began, culminating in completion in 2023.
Throughout these remarkable developments, the church has been a testament to God's faithfulness, witnessing an extraordinary growth in its community. Thousands of believers have come together, united in their faith and vision to reach every single soul with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
